ABOUT ME
The creation of beauty is Art.
Inspiration alone is of course insufficient to growth. Structured guidance is also needed, and I
believe that Parsons is the ideal place for me to continue my studies, not only because it is
located in a place that for me is a pulse point of inspiration. It also houses great artists and
professors such as Julia Gorton, whose reverence for the past and fluency in different kinds of art
outside of just graphic design lend a nostalgic feel to her work that harkens something familiar
within viewers.

Through continued study and development, I hope to merge traditional, fundamental concepts,
such as art representing what we see, with new media and forms of expression in the field of
graphic design while also finding a way to imprint my identity into my work. The latter can
sometimes be hard to do as a graphic designer because technology, the thing that enables us, can
also serve to obscure the artist especially when given a set of specifications for a work
assignment. I never want to lose my identity as a person or artist. Perhaps because of my interest
in history, I always want my art to reflect who I am, and I hope that my studies at Parsons will
help me grow into an artist who is true to herself and who pays tribute to society while at the
same time running along the forefront of new media.
